So uh.

The last time I really used this journal was May. I've been intermittenly active on tumblr at pyro-jack.tumblr.com, and still super active on Twitter as @chaosalchemist. I'm playing with the idea of switching to a new journal (probably shifting an RP journal name over) but until then...

Whats new? Whats everyone been up to?

I work way too much in my new store at Royal Bank Plaza (transferring again after christmas). I've moved to a great little 1 bedroom basement apartment at Yonge and St Clair, I have a bedroom and carpet and watson seems to like sleeping in the windowsills. I've still not dug myself out of debt but I have a nice new desk and TV and various kitchen appliances. Seriously considering the addition of a small freezer when I have a couple hundred to spare.

And I'll be coming the closest I've ever gotten to cosplaying a girl at DTAC. It's a princely rendition of a female but I've been expressly banned from binding.

Who all's gonna be at DTAC? For that matter, who's actually still here?

Lau/Ranmao - :3

So I think I forgot to mention I buggered off to England...

...but I did. Landed about 10 hours ago in Gatwick, and after the hour and a half wait to get out of customs...I am very happy to be here.

Things I have learned so far:
  • Air Transat are a bunch of tools
  • Air Transat seats are so small even I have a hard time fitting in them
  • When you book exit row with Air Transat, expect to not be anywhere near the exit row
  • Just stick with Air Canada or something. The money we saved was so not worth it.
  • It's really trippy watching people driving on the other side of the row
  • Brits fucking love station wagons. It's 80% of whats on the road
  • British bus drivers are fucking god
  • England needs bigger, less windy roads. Or smaller busses
  • Brits play chicken with busses. It's terrifying
  • British food is fucking high quality. For the same price as a meal at Jack Astors you can eat like a goddamn king.
  • Outside of the major cities (we're staying in a village an hour off the fringe of London) England is a gorgeous country
  • Pictures of this trip will definitely exist. I have my old Canon back for the next two weeks.
  • Dairy Milk is like...a buck fifty after conversion. HELLO HAPPY PLACE
Anyway I am going to go to bed now. It's 8 here, and I didn't get a wink of sleep on last night's flight (due to itty bitty seat and somehow ending up in the middle of a row of 3 when we booked a two seat row). If anyone wants...stuff! I have about 15 pounds of wiggle room with my luggage! Let me know. I'll be checking my email/LJ/Twitter regularly.

Dr Horrible - thinking

(no subject)

I know I've been all but dead lately here, but trip prep and moving prep and work and marukyuu have been occupying lots of time.

As I am officially moving July first, I think I am going to get rid of a few things. I'll offer them up here for free before I try elsewhere, who knows who could get use of them. If you are interested I will take pics for you, and then all you gotta do is come get it.
  • First up, my desk. It's great, but small. So small that I use it more as storage for art supplies than anything else.
  • Second, an all in one printer. A Lexmark x2650. The ink has long since dried up, but it still works as a great scanner, you just need a cable.
  • Third, my microwave. It's too big for me, it's a 1.8 cubic foot monster. It still works great though, so I'm loathe to just toss it.
  • Lastly, my bedframe. http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/70161834 I've had it for about 6 months, you'll need ceilings at least 6-7 feet up but if you have the means to come get it you can have it free. I have the twin version, and the only reason I'm ditching it is because the place I'm set on getting has low ceilings.
With that, I am back to clearing out my wall unit so I can throw that out too. It's finally dying ;3;

Aegis - gaming

(no subject)

So I just beat Devil May Cry for the first time. Yeah, the first one.

Add that to Assassins Creed: Bloodlines and Persona 3: FES, I've finished 3 games this year. And its only April.

Dont ask me why this makes me feel accomplished, it just does.

And DMC? Not nearly as badass as I expected, needed more Vergil, but overall a decent game. Love love love the battle mechanics, just needed better control of angles.

Half of my Japan pics are corrupted. So my photopost must wait till marukyuu can re-upload them for me. In the meantime, have some picspam of my cat~

one very sleepy kittyCollapse )

Sorry for the delays....jetlag hit like an 18 wheeler and I came down with a helluva cold tuesday afternoon. I spent my time cleaning instead of sleeping like normal humans. I am finally sleeping at night, with the help of many sinus meds, and should have my Japan post up by this weekend.

Pikachu - /flop

I have returned, alive and in one piece. Due to my royally boned sleep schedule (woke up at 1pm, wut wut) and having to go get my cat today, a proper photopost will come later this week. I am fully unpacked, a new record for me, but thats about...all I've gotten done.

For now I will say I miss Japan. Canada is cold and lonely and much dirtier, and cheap on-the-go but decent food is much more rare. I want to go back to marukyuu and that land where corn is served on everything and there's a vending machine on every corner. And I'll miss my ketchup/egg rice balls with cc lemon for breakfast.
click here for a teaser imageCollapse )

All I have to say right now is that I am bushed. Gotta go in for 8am, tho i have no idea what time I am actually working. mai_sheri I will text you later this week about the hams! Good night LJ~

UPDATE: I am in Japan, despite Toronto's best efforts not to let me leave.

I left the house at around 9, later than planned but it only takes an hour to get to the airport, right? No it took almost 2 because of a detour on Dufferin and a 192 Rocket driver who couldn't wait 3 seconds at the platform. Because I arrived at almost 11, I missed the baggage cutoff for my noon flight. Thankfully I had borrowed a duffel bag from sirius_dragon for the trip, i had it stashed in my luggage. So after a mild panic attack I repacked, checked my main luggage for 10 days and jumped on the plane.

I got pretty lucky with seats tho, as my grandpa did seat selection when he bought the tickets, and the guy beside me slept the whole way.

I will update later in the week with THINGS but for now I am pleased to be here with my girlfriend and alive. <3

Writer's Block: The name game

What's the origin of your username? If you could change it to anything else, would you, and what would it be?

The origins of this username are horrendously embarrassing. They had something to do with some horrible half-baked character from forever ago that was half human and half vampiric thing, and I would change it in a heartbeat but I can't decide what to change it TO.

Any ideas? I will drop money on a rename token if I find something worth using XD

Oh and 9 days till I leave for Japan. NERVES, THEY BE SETTING IN

My animals

Are going to need a place to stay for about 12 days.

I have 2 hams, they are easy to feed and water and will be cute at you. All i ask is that they not be fed fruit more than a couple times cause they are too small to process that much sugar. If you want hams for lovin say aye!

I also need a place for watson. He does not do well with a lot of cats. He also loves to sleep and meow at people. I am also willing to leave keys for someone to crash on my futon and let him sleep on you.

I will provide food and all other things they will need, and will love you forever ;;
